Having traveled to dozens of countries and gotten dental care in several of them, I was incredibly impressed by the talent, safety and warmth of the team at Meza Dental.
In many aspects, my experience at Meza surpassed any that I have had before. From the first moment when you meet Jose, who will pick you up at your hotel to take you to the clinic personally, you know that this trip to the dentist is going to be special.
I have never felt so at home or welcome in a medical setting. I now have a new smile, which I use whenever I get to tell my friends about where I went for dental care.
Thank you.

I have been a practicing dentist since 1978.
I found the Meza Dental Clinic to be equal and superior to the finest dental offices I have visited throughout the world. It is very comforting to be in a facility where the dentist/owner as well as the staff has a professional, warm and caring relationship with you that you feel immediately.
One is equally impressed by the efficiency reflected by the technology available in the office. The decorum lends itself to comfortability while waiting as well as when you begin to receive the service.
Dr. Meza’s treatment plans and clinical skills are second to none. My wife and I received the finest quality dental care possible at the Meza Dental Clinic, and would personally recommend them to anyone. Additionally, the savings we realized were enough to pay for our very nice vacation in the beautiful Costa Rica.

If you are thinking about traveling to Costa Rica for dental work, I am pleased to share my recent experience with Meza Dental Care and to offer my enthusiastic recommendation for Dr. Meza and his team.
My husband and I recently returned to Virginia after visiting Costa Rica for dental work, and then a wonderful vacation afterward. We had the pleasure of being well cared for by Meza Dental Care. Overall, this turned out to be a very good decision for us, as well as a positive experience. We were able to save approximately 10K on dental work from the estimate given by my dentist up here, including implants, root canals, fillings, crowns and cosmetic work needed between the two of us. Moreover, we were able to restore decades of neglect in one week, all with excellent results!
My experience with this practice exceeded my expectations in every respect. As to the quality of the treatment, I would be delighted to be a regular patient if Dr. Meza’s office was here in Virginia. Honestly, Dr. Meza and his associates are the caliber of professionals that would have a waiting list for new patients in some places. I was particularly impressed with the attention and consideration given to my comfort and tolerances by both the professionals and staff. (It was a grueling week of back to back dentist appointments, after all.) I had never had a dental assistant offer me either a blanket or neck pillow before at my dentist here.
The logistics are also well attended to by the clinic. You are treated as invited guest immediately upon arrival at the airport - literally. The clinic provides transportation to and from your hotel and the office for all of your appointments. The transportation is really a nice feature that eliminates all the hassle of getting around for the appointments, and Jose, the driver, is an excellent resource and a truly pleasant and helpful guy.
In the waiting area I met several people from all over the United States: Florida, Connecticut, Missouri, Oregon, Washington State - and us from Virginia. Without a single exception, every one of Dr. Meza’s patients had all the same positive things to say about their experience.
Bottom line: My husband and I got 18K worth of dental work, which would have taken months of appointments at home, all completed in one week for around 8K. (Ask me if I smiled when I wrote that!) Our entire experience with Meza Dental Care was first class, and I am happy to recommend these professionals to anyone without hesitation. Feel free to contact me by email if you would like additional information.

I first e-mailed Meza Dental months before we came to have work done. I received a most prompt response with an answer to all my questions. I sent xrays and pictures and was given an accurate estimate for both my husband and myself. Rebeca and Dr. Meza e-mailed me personally as well with answers to specific questions that came up.
This estimate correlated with my dentists statements here in the USA. My husband and I came to San Jose, Costa Rica June 2008. We were greeted personally by Jose who helped us with our luggage(and we do not pack light) and took us to our consultation with Dr. Meza. Jose even had cold refreshments, that was so great after a long flight! The office is beautiful and so inviting, with pictures of some of Dr. Meza’s patients. We were comfortable immediately.
Dr. Meza spent a great amount of time with each of us, and made sure we understood completely what he proposed to do and to make sure that is what we wanted too. He gave each of EXACTLY what we wanted!!! I had wanted porcelain veneers for so long to perfect my smile- I LOVE MY SMILE NOW!
My husband does too- He looks great! Everyone compliments us everywhere we go. Everyone that knew about our trip couldn’t believe the results. I have commented to everyone that the level of care I received in Dr. Meza’s office exceeds some of the techniques used here in the states. For example, Dr. Truque performed a root canal and put a sheath so that none of the diseased tissue could be accidentally swallowed. None of the dentists in the states do that. Dr.Marin was so gentle-she never hurt me.
Dr. Meza is very detail oriented and everything that all of them do is perfect! Dr. Obando pulled my husband’s wisdom teeth and made sure he was doing ok. This testimonial is so long because I am thrilled that I was lucky enough to find them, and could afford my recommended treatment. God bless you all-You are our friends for LIFE!!!!!! Thank you so very much for everything. Please feel free to allow any prospective patients call or e-mail me, I would be happy to tell them all of my wonderful experiences.
Take Care and God Bless,
Rebecca and Corey Shane Stringer

Until recently, I have ignored the wisdom of not using one’s teeth as bottle opener, pliers or wire cutters. Additionally I have always had the nasty habit of grinding my teeth. As a result of my ignorance and habit, my teeth came to appear as if I had been in a terrible accident.
Earlier this year, at age 65, it became increasingly necessary to do something about my dental health. The way I saw it, my choice was either full dentures or full restoration. Not knowing whether it was in fact possible, I elected to pursue the latter option. In surfing the Internet, I found that the treatment I sought was available in numerous locations throughout the world. Because of the high cost, I ruled out any location in the USA, but staying in the Western Hemisphere made sense to me.
Having heard much of Costa Rica, both as a great vacation destination and a place where excellent dental and other medical services are extensively available at a reasonable cost, Costa Rica became my choice. I researched several websites based in San Jose, Costa Rica and found MEZA’s site to be the most sophisticated and informative. When I called the clinic, Rebeca Bianchini, who is the Customer Service Manager for Meza Dental Care. After a relatively short conversation, a date for the start of my treatment was agreed upon. Rebeca also recommended several hotels and within an hour I received an email from her describing those accommodations and respective price range. Rebeca also said that Dr. Meza himself would call me within the next two hours.
Before ending the first call I had all the information I could possibly require which included including airport- and daily pick-up at the hotel. After ending the call, I felt very confident and rather proud of myself for having found and selected Meza Dental Clinic. As promised, Dr. Alberto Meza called me and spent approximately half an hour explaining the likely treatment plan, the time involved and the outcome of that treatment.
From the time of my arrival to my departure, the time elapsed was 9 days. During that period I was picked up at my hotel (Jose, the driver, was invariably on time) every day I was scheduled for treatment. On arrival at the clinic, the work started almost immediately. My first observation on day one was the harmony between Dr. Meza and his staff of doctors and assistants. In a very short time I felt that harmony extended to me; I felt more like a family member than a patient.
Everyone involved in my treatment exhibited a high degree of professionalism, which demonstrated the pride and joy they have in their chosen professions. The end result was very much above my expectations. I had hoped for good dental health with a somewhat attractive smile. However, after a complete restoration, I now have a smile that would be the envy of the average 20-year-old. I do, at times, have a knack (and luck) for making intelligent decisions; choosing Meza is clearly one! Meza Dental Care comes with my highest recommendations.
Sincerely,

Dear Dr. Meza,
I had waited a very long time to replace my old and extremely discolored front crowns. I had learned to smile without showing my teeth for years. I am so happy that you are the dentist that I choose for my dental work.
Every one of the testimonials on your web site is true and accurate. You truly are an expert at your craft and I can’t begin to tell you how delighted I am with my new smile. The results far exceeded my expectations. I have received so many compliments on how natural my teeth look. To have spaces between my four front teeth after 30 plus years is fantastic! I don’t honestly believe that having my cosmetic dentistry in the USA at a much higher cost would have produced the same beautiful results.
You have a very wonderful staff that makes your clients feel at home. From the time Rebecca and Jose picked me up at the airport, I knew that I was in good hands. When you or Marianela worked on my teeth, you were so concerned about any pain that I might have. For the amount of drilling, etc, there was very little discomfort. Gabriela always greeted me with a smile. Jose was prompt in picking me up and helped tutor me in Spanish. Your staff also has a wonderful rapport with each other.
With Sincere Gratitude,

After ten years I can finally smile again thanks to the brilliant Dr. Meza and his equally talented staff. When I walked into their office I felt as if I had landed in the midst of some advanced civiliization in a parallel universe. Besides being fluent in English, everything from the brightness of their smiles, the crispness of their uniforms, the shine on the digital x -ray machines, the slick new hardwood floors, the floor to ceiling windows that brought the mountain view in, the fresh flowers, all of this signaled to me "expert care and cutting edge".
My Dental adventures started many years ago. Having milked on tetracycline as a baby because of constant ear infections my teeth came in a kind of daisy color. Then due to soft enamel my cavities, in a matter of minutes, became root canals.
In my 20's I started grinding my teeth, of course due to the realities of making it on my own. My teeth literally started shrinking. Veneer tooth technology hadn't come around to Tortola, where I was living, so my dentist crowned most of my front teeth. That begat a new era of dental issues. Random root canals under crowns, crowns cracking, crowns pulling away from the gum (presenting the tell tale black line around the front teeth), and eventually an eye tooth crown falling off.
Desperate, I super glued the tooth back on and went to the dentist. "O.K.", he said, "time to bite the bullet and get these teeth redone; If you do not you will have bone loss and gum disease within a year". I took a deep breath and waited as he prepared the estimate. To stop decay, retreat 3 root canals, do 2 molar root canals, 3 implants, 14 crowns and veneers would be $40,000.00.
Let me say here that I happen to live in an exclusive community outside Philadelphia, Pa. but by no means was I prepared to spend that kind of money. A friend of mine suggested Costa Rica for their expert Medical Care as an alternative and I immediately went to the computer to google another route.
She was right. After reviewing numerous websites of Costa Rican Dentists I honed in on Meza Dental. Why, because their website visually was presented in a very analytical, (the way scientists think), typo free, easy to navigate, informative way. I liked the way the office looked -clean, modern and hip; I felt here was a practice that would have the latest technology. I believed that if the Doctor put this kind of thought into building his practice then he surely had a keen aesthetic about how replacement teeth should look and feel. I contacted someone who wrote a testimonial and he highly recommended that I receive care from Meza Dental.
I e-mailed Dr. Meza. I reported the extent of my problems and also that I only had about a week to get the work completed. Was it possible? My answer came back the next day as a very friendly and helpful reply from Dr. Meza. Not only was it possible, he suggested who to contact for accomodations and assured me concerning other issues. Rebeca, marvelous front woman / office manager, took it from there. She made the arrangements and lined me up for a 9 am appt.
I arrived in San Jose on a Thursday night and was scheduled to be picked up at my hotel on friday morning. The wonderful Jose was there promptly with a brand new mini van to whisk me away and he quickly dispersed any nervousness I had with his cheerful personality.
Upon getting seated in "the chair" a flurry of activity began by Dr Meza. who was assisted by the exceptional Dr. Nella and Gabriella. After performing their evaluation a strategy was outlined and discussed by Dr. Meza. I opted not to have implants and have bridges made instead. He suggested to zoom (whiten) my bottom front teeth which were still intact and match the rest of the crowns to them for a natural look. The final cost $ 10,782.00. You got a deal! (of course) was my reply.
Over the next few days I was also seen by a fantastic endodontist, Dr. Paola, and can honestly say that I could have fallen asleep no matter which Dentist was working on me - they are all that good! I had the pleasure too of meeting other patients who had come from the states. Some were having implants, others cosmetic work. All had found Dr. Meza through their friends or from the internet.
Dr.Meza and his associates changed my life, gave me a beautiful smile, and the experience of a life time with their warm hearted generousity and care. I consider them friends for life.
Sincerely,

Thank you Dr. Meza and staff!
My experience at your dental clinic was exceptional. From the moment I met Jose who came to pick me up at my hotel I was made to feel very comfortable. Upon entering the office and being warmly greeted by Rebeca and looking at what would be my "home" for the next several days, I knew I had made the right decision.
The equipment and surroundings are top notch. When I met Dr. Meza I felt totally at ease. He took so much time in explaining what course of treatment would be necessary to give me that perfect smile I had always dreamed of. I had some extensive work done and in between visits I was able to tour much of Costa Rica. What better way to recuperate from the dentist's chair! I did not take the decision lightly to have my dental work done in Costa Rica and I did my homework.
I contacted several of Dr. Meza's former patients and all with were thrilled with their results. I also looked at the cost and couldn't believe that it was approximately one third of the price in Canada. All I can say is that if you want a beautiful smile and a beautiful experience the Meza Dental Clinic is the place to go!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Meza!
People used to tell me, "Steve, you have the perfect face for radio..."
My name is Steve Hartman. I was a former, and still a part-time radio talk show host for KSCO AM-1080 in Santa Cruz, CA. (Their web site, www.ksco.com is searchable and you can find me there.) I'm 57 years old, single-never married, and had a yellowed crooked-teeth smile that could frighten your scarecrow. And I've lived that way my whole life.
Why? The high cost of dental care in the United States-that's why! I haven't been able to afford to go to the dentist in twenty years. So consequently, I never went.
Last year (2005) two things happened. First, I refinanced my house and pulled out enough money to get my teeth fixed. Second, I ran into a local dentist, in the studio to do a commercial, who told me it would take "probably" $25,000 or more to get my teeth the way I wanted them.
Folks, that's more than a down payment on a new house in many parts of the country.
So, I started doing web research and came across Dr. Meza. The bad news was, Dr. Meza is in Costa Rica! BUT! The good news was that Dr. Meza was in Costa Rica and I hadn't had a real vacation.... also in over twenty years!
Further, according to my research, Costa Rica is recognized as the number ONE dental and/or medical destination for quality, professionalism, training (much in USA), and my chief concern-COSTS! - south or north of the border. Yes, including Canada! And let's face it, everybody wants to go to Costa Rica just to play! So why not go there to play... and come back good looking?
So, it's now March of 2006 and I finally made one of the best decisions of my life! I booked an appointment with Dr. Meza.
Air miles (only 35,000) got me from the United States to San Jose, Costa Rica on a roundtrip ticket. One of his office staff met me at the airport (speaking fluent English) and took me to my hotel. Let me also say that Dr. Meza's staff picked me up every morning for my appointments and brought me back every afternoon. His staff were all wonderful and all spoke English.
I stayed at the Hotel Clarion in Barrio Amon. It's a nice medium priced hotel, fairly close to Dr. Meza's office with wireless internet, restaurant, and casino. (Their room rate is $65 a night during the high season, but if you contact me (AND FEEL FREE TO DO SO!), I may be able to get you a better rate through the casino. LOL!)
To make a long story shorter, Dr. Meza did a complete examination with the latest technology available, including an x-ray machine that put my results right into a computer so I could see and Dr. Meza could explain the how's, what's and why I needed what Dr. Meza recommended. He's even got video sunglasses that let me watch a full-length movie while my yellow teeth were turned snow white. Yes, Dr. Meza's definitely got really cool stuff - the latest and greatest in technology!
His recommendation? Dr. Meza decided that to put my teeth back in order and to have the perfect smile I'd always dreamed of I would need 2 cavities repaired, 14 new crowns (two with implanted studs), 8 new veneers, and two root canals.
WHAT?!!!! I just knew I was going to have to get another loan because in the US you can't touch a crown for under $1000 each and I just couldn't imagine the the savings being as huge as promoted or claimed.
I know... what you really want to know is, HOW MUCH DID IT COST? - right? Well I'm not going to tell you. Not exactly anyway. I will tell you this. I spent three weeks in Costa Rica. Including my dental work, hotel, food, entertainment, sight-seeing, jungle canopy tour, pictures, souvenirs, etc, etc, etc... I spent under $11,000.
I am absolutely thrilled with the results of Dr. Meza's expertise. Thrilled! And please...if you have any questions feel free to contact me at any time via email.
While I won't put my phone number in this testimonial, Dr. Meza's office has my permission to give it to you if you request it after, and via, voice contact with his office. In other words, I want to know you're seriously considering dental work to enrich your life before I give you committed time. Hence, if you call Dr. Meza's office, or he calls you, and you want to talk to me, Dr. Meza or a member of his staff will give you my telephone number.
However, be advised that I am currently hanging out in Montana and that's mountain time. I also sleep late... like until 8 or 8:30 am while living this life of leisure. So, don't wake me up! LOL! Other than that, please fell free to call me anytime.
That's it, Folks... well, except to say that I now have a face for television. Any casting directors out there looking for a fresh face?
Sincerely,
Steve Hartman - Talk Show Host

I would like to tell everyone about my experience at Meza Dental in San Jose, Costa Rica. My dentist in the US had quoted me a very high price that was totally out of reach to replace some crowns.
I went to Costa Rica for a tour of the country in June and after finding out about having dental work done there, I planned my tour going a day early and returning a day later to have it done. I had old and yellowed crowns, some amalgam fillings and discolored teeth to deal with.
I cannot say enough about the care I got and the results too! The first day, after an exam and digital photos and a course of treatment agree upon, Dr. Meza removed 13 crowns, bleached my own teeth that would not be re-crowned and did the prep work for the new crowns and took impressions. It was a long day but with a great staff that spoke very good English and was very concerned about my comfort, it was not that bad. They made temporaries and installed them and I was off on my trip.
When I returned to San Jose, they made an extra effort and came in on a Sunday for 3 hours so I would not be rushed to make my flight on Monday afternoon. Dr. Meza installed all the new porcelain crowns and they removed the amalgams and filled those teeth and they are now nice and white. I also had another bleaching to whiten some more.
My lower front teeth were bonded to even them up and on Monday morning before my flight, I came back after the numbness had worn off totally to assure that the final result and fitting and bite were to my liking. My mouth feels and looks perfectly normal. The work that was done was first class and more than exceeded my expectations.
All transportation to and from the hotels and airport was promptly provided by their driver in a plainly marked new van who also handled my luggage. The dental equipment is very modern and the offices are lovely and I felt extremely well taken care of and the results are wonderful. Just try to find a practicing US dentist that takes as much personal time to treat you! I would highly recommend Dr. Meza and his wonderful staff to anyone needing dental work done.

A few months ago both my wife and I discovered that we both required a considerable amount of dental work. The cost here in southwest Florida was very high.
Since we are both retired and are not covered by a comprehensive dental insurance plan I began to look for alternatives. I discovered wed site for Meza Dental Care in San Jose Costa Rica. I corresponded with Dr Alberto Meza via email. We had visited Costa Rica in the past and felt very comfortable going there.
The service we received from Dr Meza and his staff was great. They met us at the airport and took us to the clinic. I was impressed with the facilities and the professional attitudes of the staff. We commenced having our dental work done almost immediately.
The clinic met us at the airport and provided transportation for each appointment to and from the clinic and offered to provide transportation back to the airport for our return flight. They even assisted in obtaining a hotel reservations at a reduced rate.
We are both very satisfied with the care and the quality of the dental work provided. The total cost of the dental work, transportation to and from Costa Rica and our hotel was approximately fifty percent of the costs I would have incurred just to have the dental work done at home. And we had a vacation to boot.
I would be happy to answer and questions relating to our experience. I may be contacted via email at

Dear Dr. Meza,
It is with great pleasure that I am writing to express my appreciation, and to thank you for the professional and courteous manner with which the doctors, dental assistants and office staff treated my family and I.
This was my first visit to Costa Rica, after asking around for a dentist, I was referred to your clinic by a friend and was very impressed by the efficient and urgent reply for my appointment the next morning! Entered the clinic and was welcomed by the friendly staff the surroundings were clean, and there are state-of-the-art equipment.
I felt relaxed and comfortable. I saw 3 doctors and everyone was professional, and treated me with respect. They explained the procedures, and all my questions answered. I will certainly recommend your clinic to anyone seeking dental work to be done in Costa Rica.
Gracias to all

Since I chose Meza Dental Clinic sight unseen, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I found was a staff of professionals in a clean, modern office that rivals any that I have seen in the U.S. Getting to the appointments was easy, since they provide free door to door transportation to and from your hotel.
The work was top-notch, and was done in a matter of days to accommodate my scheduled time in Costa Rica, not in weeks (or even months), of seemingly endless appointments that it would have taken in the States.
I left Costa Rica with a beautiful smile, which was even bigger knowing that I was able to pay for a nice vacation and STILL spend less than the cost of the dental work alone here!
I couldn't be any happier with my choice!
